Would rather just see Versteeg on the 3rd line and keep Bennett with Monahan.

Woulda made more sense. Not sure how a rusty Versteeg is supposed to better than Bennett.

Makes sense, why play a plug on the first line when you have a talent like bennet.

Me neither, but Bennett - Monahan - Brouwer clearly wasn't working. may as well change it up

Bennett on the third line means less minutes. Maybe less penalties too. We can only hope.
Any chance Dave Murray missed the flight to Columbus? We can only hope.
But on the right side they are .500 on this road trip.
And Johnson's back in so maybe that's the end of a Grossman-type experiment by GG.

Is Bennett going to ever play center again? I would like to see him and Tkachuk play together,

They tried Bennett Brouwer and Tkachuk for a bit. They ended up tossing him with Backlund and Frolik to take some pressure off and allow him to play his game- it's been working so I doubt that they change it now.

A couple of games ago Monahan was looking back to his old self (I'll agree that Buffalo wasn't a good game for him though). I think he's going to turn it around in the next few games here (he was on a point streak for a bit there). (frank)in back injuries

I plan on watching Hartnell closely tonight to see if it still makes sense for me to want us to trade for him

We need at least one more top 6 winger on this team. You have to think that Columbus will want to shed some of those NMC.

Hartnell is a LW. (frank) him. Grab Columbus by the wussy and demand Atkinson!

Why not try Ferland up on the LW with Mony and Brouwer? Ferland has been busting his ass most games and getting shots. Hes also drawing penalties and taking no crap.

If you weren't always sporting pouty yet strangely arousing lips, then maybe someone would listen to you.

I looked at Atkinson but I just don't think we need another undersized winger. Hartnell would fit in well with us and he should be dirt cheap (maybe Torts would love him some Bouma )

That way we could have 3 solid pairs (and two solid lines when JG gets back)

Johnny Money Brouwer
Tkachuk Backlund Frolik
Hartnell Bennett Versteeg
Ferland Stajan Hathaway

Hartnell looks like he still producing at a top 6 level. I think he makes us a much deeper/better team and his contract is pretty decent IMO.

Edit: Actually, I really like all 4 of those lines Versteeg is probably the weak link in there, and he's a pretty decent 3rd liner. Hamilton would be good to come in for any injuries to the bottom 6, I actually like his game as well.

That line is arguably our 2nd best line most nights. If it's working GG's probably not in much of a hurry to break it up.

I wouldn't mind giving Ferland a shot but I remember Hartley doing this multiple times last year and he has never responded. Maybe he's just not cut out for the top 6 and he'd rather play the crash the crease kind of game that comes from playing with guys like Hamilton and Hathaway?

Kekalainen will be sweating bullets if he makes it to the draft with Hartnell still under contract. Jenner is going to be the odd man out if he can't deal Harts.
